My Story
Hi, I am Ivrahim Khalil. I am a proud father of two beautiful kids (Alhamdulillah) and a full-time freelancer.
My journey here was not exactly planned. I used to work a traditional 9-to-5 job for a multinational organization. When I unexpectedly lost that job, it felt like a heavy blow. But that moment actually changed my life for the better.
In June 2013, I started freelancing on Upwork (which was called oDesk back then). I put in the hard work and eventually became a Top Rated Plus freelancer—meaning I am in the top 3% of earners on the entire platform. Over the years, I have earned over $150,000 and expanded my career to work remotely for several different companies.
Losing my job felt terrible at the time, but today I can confidently say that becoming a freelancer is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me.
